Southern University System is the largest historically African American U.S. Land Grant institutional system with over 15,000 students in various programs and campuses.  The mission of the university is teaching, research and outreach.  It has been involved in international development for more than 35 years with operations totaling over $70 million and has become a leading U.S. university in applied research and technology transfer to small-scale farmers, technical assistance in institutional building and a variety of short-term training courses.  The University has the commitment to help people of common ancestry and cultural origin and the desire to extend education and development to people in all parts of the world.
