The Senior Coordinator for Academic Research, & Assessment bears primary responsibility for the development and systematic collection and evaluation of data and serves as the principal System liaison with each campus’s institutional research office.  Additionally, the Senior Coordinator provides accreditation compliance and SACS re-accreditation support. She monitors responses to external and internal reporting requests; and serves as a clearinghouse for assessment data documentation files.

The Senior Coordinator serves as a special advisor to the SGA/SBA Presidents. Additionally, the Senior Coordinator assists with staffing select system advisory council meetings; and performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President.

Vickey H. Murray
Special Assistant to the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs

The Special Assistant provides assistance in accreditation compliance through data support for SACS re-accreditation; assists with responses to external and internal reporting requests; maintains assessment data documentation files; assists with conference/workshop preparations; maintains office project calendars and ensures that cyclical project timelines are met.

The Special Assistant plans office activities/events; answers telephones, greets visitors, and assists in coordinating the work of the graduate assistants as needed to accomplish the objectives of the office.

Micheal A. Ralph
Assistant Vice-President for Planning and Institutional Research

The Assistant Vice President for Planning and Institutional Research provides support to the Southern University System Office of Academic and Student Affairs.  He plans faculty development and strategic initiatives. Additionally, the Assistant Vice President for Planning and Institutional Research serves as Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. He works with campus administrators with special projects as designated by the Vice President. 

The Assistant Vice President also assists in conference/workshop preparations; assists with staffing select system advisory council meetings; and performs other duties as assigned by the Vice-President.

Walter T. Tillman, Jr.
Executive Associate to the System Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs

The Executive Associate to the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs has primary responsibility for advising and supporting the Vice President on a range of issues and strategic initiatives and developing and executing an aggressive strategic advancement operation to elevate the academic profile of the Southern University System and its campuses.

The Executive Associate assists in the operations of the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, chairs the System Enrollment Management Advisory Council, assists in coordinating the work of the graduate assistants as needed to accomplish the objectives of the office and carries out other duties and responsibilities related to the academic and student affairs of the University as needed.
